POSTMARK DEADLINE: Thursday, January 12, 2023

Festival date: Saturday February 4, 2023 at Steinway Piano Galleries (5950 North Point Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30022

  • Repertoire requirements: Two contrasting period pieces

  • Student fee: $30

  • One time teacher fee: $25

  • Teachers must send in one check covering all student and teacher fees. Please make checks payable to Southeast Young Artist Piano Competition (full name). Cash and Parent checks will not be accepted.

  • Each student should have a separate application and judge's form. Please mail all forms to the audition chair.

  • Students must bring music. Photocopied sheet music will not be allowed.*

    • *If sheet music is bought online and printed, please provide a receipt.

  • There will be a judge's comment sheet and certificate for each student.

  • There are also medals for students who have received Outstanding Performer.

  • Students who consecutively participate for 3 years will receive a trophy to award their dedication to piano.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, we ask that everyone observe the following guidelines so that we may provide a safe and supportive environment for all participants. We thank you for your consideration and contribution to our community!

 

COVID-19 Guidelines:

  • Contestants, parents, teachers, and judges are recommended to wear a face mask that covers the nose and the mouth.

    • You can find the CDC’s guidelines of face masks here.

  • Please come 20 minutes beforehand for check-in, so that the we can observe distance and time between each contestant’s arrival.

  • After check-in, parents/guardians are expected to wait outside of the building in order to keep social distancing possible indoors.

  • Please observe 6 ft social distancing

  • There will be no food or drink allowed indoors.

  • Contestants, please make sure to wash/sanitize your hands before playing.

  • *If any contestants, parents, teachers, and judges have any symptoms of illness (coughing, fever, chills, etc.) or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms of illness, within 2 weeks of the competition date please contact us as soon as possible and refrain from attending the competition in person.

Teacher's Work Policy:

Teachers who send in students must work (5 or less students, half day; More than 5 students, whole day) The audition chair will designate jobs for each teacher. It will b the teacher's responsibility to contact the audition chair if there is a conflict.

 

There will be judge's comment sheets and certificates for each student, which will be mailed or handed to teachers

 

            **TO TEACHERS: We recommend for you to notify us that you sent the applications via email (to southeastyapc@gmail.com) titled Festival Application Mailed within three days after you mail out the applications in case of mail mis-delivery.**
